It is helpful to have an indication of what you can expect to pay for your treatment and hospital stay. This section provides details on the size of medical bills according to medical conditions and procedures, and answers general questions on the range of fees to expect. All our cost estimations are based on a statistical average of hospital bill sizes for standard procedures from past admissions, barring any complications. We understand that there are many considerations in choosing the right hospital. To help patients make an informed decision, we have come up with a list of some of the common medical procedures and their expected costs. A cost estimation is the total fee that a patient can expect to pay for inpatient or day surgery treatment. It consists of hospital and doctors’ fees. Charges that are incurred from an average hospital admission – laboratory, radiology, histology and other tests; and anaesthetist fees for procedures – are also included. Example Low Middle High Hospital Fee $2,500 $4,000 $5,000 Doctor Fee $2,500 $4,000 $5,000 Total Fee $5,000 $8,000 $10,000 Example Low Hospital Fee $2500 Doctor Fee $2500 Total Fee $5000 Middle Hospital Fee $4000 Doctor Fee $4000 Total Fee $8000 High Hospital Fee $5000 Doctor Fee $5000 Total Fee $10000 LOW The LOW price is the 25th percentile (lower quartile) of costs incurred whereby 1 in 4 patients would pay less than this amount MIDDLE The MIDDLE price is the 50th percentile of costs incurred where half of all patients would pay more and half of patients would pay less than this amount HIGH The HIGH price is the 75th percentile (upper quartile) of costs incurred whereby 1 in 4 patients would pay more than this amount IMPORTANT NOTE The cost estimations were aggregated from data on hospital and doctors’ fees collected in the past for up to one year. They are a reflection of what patients previously paid for these procedures. Cost estimations are not meant as fee recommendations. The attending doctor decides on the final professional fees. If a patient has medical complications or stays in the executive deluxe room or VIP suite, a bigger total bill size should be expected. Generally, the medical condition, type of treatment, length of stay, and doctors' fees, will influence the actual bill size. * Prices are quoted in Singapore dollars and are inclusive of 7% Goods and Services Tax (GST).
