Experience
Dr Jeeve Kanagalingam is a Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon with a sub-specialty focus in head and neck surgery. He trained in London, United Kingdom and has over 10 years experience in this specialty gained in the UK, Australia and more recently in the public sector in Singapore. He is on the Singapore and UK’s General Medical Council specialist registers and is also registered to practise in Malaysia.
Dr Jeeve studied pre-clinical medicine as a Chevening Scholar at the University of Cambridge and completed his medical degree at the University of Oxford. He then went on to specialist training in London at the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear Hospital, the Royal Marsden Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and Charing Cross Hospital. He received the Royal Society of Medicine Gold Medal for the intercollegiate FRCS examinations in 2006. Following the completion of training, he pursued a fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. He then returned to Singapore and joined Tan Tock Seng Hospital where he led the Head and Neck Cancer Service from 2009-2012, chairing the multidisciplinary tumour board.
Dr Jeeve is also well-trained in advanced head and neck surgery including endoscopic and robotic thyroid surgery, and transoral robotic and laser microsurgery. He received his robotic training in Hong Kong and South Korea. He is also an expert in voice problems. In 2011, he received a Health Manpower Development (HMDP) award to pursue advanced voice surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, USA.
Apart from his practice at Mount Elizabeth Novena, Dr Jeeve is a Visiting Consultant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital where he supports the cancer and voice services. He is committed to undergraduate teaching and the training of residents. He is Assistant Professor at the Lee Kong Chian (Joint NTU-Imperial College, London) School of Medicine and sits on the National Residency Advisory Committee (RAC) in Otolaryngology. In 2012, he was voted one of the best teachers in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
In addition, Dr Jeeve is widely published in his field – having authored three book chapters and 28 peer-reviewed scientific papers. He has been an invited speaker to various international meetings in Australasia and Southeast Asia. He is an instructor for the AO Craniomaxillofacial (CMF) course and runs an annual thyroid ultrasound course in Singapore.
Dr Jeeve plays an active role within the fraternity of ENT surgeons in the region and is Secretary of the Chapter of Otolaryngologists at the College of Surgeons, Singapore.
