Chief Embryologist – Ms Ng Lai Cheng
Ms Ng Lai Cheng is the chief embryologist of Mount Elizabeth Fertility Centre at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. Ms Lai Cheng holds a Masters degree in reproductive endocrinology from the National University of Singapore (NUS). She has been involved in embryology since 1994.
Previously a trainer and tutor of the Master of Clinical Embryology Programme organised by the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, NUS, she has trained more than 60 embryologists in the region. These embryologists are currently working in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philipines, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and the United Kingdom.
Besides her passion in embryology, Ms Lai Cheng has done extensive training and resarch in blastocyst co-culture systems in its early days. She has been culturing blastocysts since 1993, first as part of an animal research co-culture team in blastocyst culture and transfer and later on in clinic embryology. This has contributed to her quality clinical work.
Having more than 20 years of experience in clinical embryology, she has performed more than 9000 IVF laboratory procedures and has contributed to more than 3000 IVF babies born worldwide.
Senior Embryologist – Ms Tan Yen Leng
Ms Tan Yen Leng is a senior embryologist at Mount Elizabeth Fertility Centre in Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. She is experienced all aspects of assisted reproductive techniques (ART), from andrology services to in vitro fertilisation (IVF) procedures, with specific expertise in embryo cryopreservation, thawing of gametes and embryos, and blastocyst culture.
Ms Yen Leng holds a Bachelor of Science in microbiology. She joined Mount Elizabeth Fertility Centre at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in 2004, where she works in our modern full services laboratory that is equipped with up-to-date technology in assisted reproductive techniques (ART) and IVF.
To date, Ms Yen Leng has 9 years of experience as an embryologist and mentors new medical technologists and junior embryologists. Ms Yen Leng has helped thousands of childless couples to achieve their dream of having a baby and start their own families.
