  • Dr Andrea Rajnakova is a gastroenterologist practising at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. Her clinical expertise includes the treatment of liver diseases such as hepatitis B and C, and gastrointestinal conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and stomach ulcer.
  • Dr Rajnakova has particular interest in therapeutic endoscopy where treatment is carried out via examination of organs, and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP), an examination of the pancreas, liver and bile ducts.
  • Dr Andrea Rajnakova attained her basic medical degree and a Master in Medicine in Slovakia in 1992 and 1995 respectively. She then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy at the National University of Singapore (NUS) from 1995 – 2000. In 2000, Dr Rajnakova then obtained a Master of Medicine in internal medicine at NUS. She subsequently became a member of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 2001 and a fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore in gastroenterology in 2005.
  • In 2008, Dr Rajnakova was awarded a Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) award by the Ministry of Health, Singapore to pursue subspecialty training in ERCP and therapeutic endoscopy at the European Endoscopic Training Centre of the Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome, Italy under Professor Guido Costamagna, president of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
  • Dr Rajnakova was formerly a consultant at the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the National University of Hospital (NUH).
  • Aside from clinical work, Dr Rajnakova was a clinical tutor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS and was appointed chief coordinator in the practical assessment of clinical examination skills for membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2009. In addition, she has been an endoscopy trainer for advanced specialists and endoscopy trainees.
