Trình độ

  • Dr Teo Yee Sze is an orthopaedic surgeon with about 10 years experience in the field. He provides specialised care in adult reconstructive and trauma surgeries at his clinic at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital.
  • Upon his graduation from the Faculty of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (MBBS, 1999), he underwent basic training and then completed his postgraduate training in Orthopaedic Surgery (MRCS Edinburgh, 2002). The following year he obtained his Master of Medicine (Orthopaedic Surgery) from the National University of Singapore and was inducted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2007.
  • Then, through the Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) Fellowship Award, he trained in Adult Reconstructive and Trauma Surgery at the world renowned Rorabeck Bourne Joint Replacement Clinic at the University of Western Ontario in Canada in 2008. There he was mentored by leading orthopaedic surgeons, Professor CH Rorebeck, Professor RB Bourne and Professor SJ McDonald, and performed numerous highly complex primary and revision arthroplasty surgeries.
  • Prior to establishing his private practice, Dr Teo was a consultant in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Changi General Hospital. During his tenure, he was instrumental in setting up and expanding the Adult Reconstructive Division within the hospital. The years there also allowed him to accumulate extensive experience in complex primary and revision arthroplasty surgeries.
  • Research is of great interest to Dr Teo. He has been awarded multiple research grants and has also authored numerous research papers in peer reviewed scientific journals such as the Journal of Arthroplasty and the American Journal of Sports Medicine. In addition, he has participated in several multicenter trials as principal and co-investigator, especially in the area of adult reconstructive surgery.
  • In addition to research, Dr Teo is a strong believer of teaching and training future generations of doctors and orthopaedic surgeons. He has been a Clinical Tutor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore since 2003, where he commits time to teaching medical students and post-graduate trainees. He was subsequently appointed Adjunct Assistant Professor in 2010, and was responsible for teaching medical students at Changi General Hospital.
