  • Dr Pang Boon Chuan graduated with first class honours from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sydney in 1999. He joined the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons’ Neurosurgical training programme in 2004, and received his neurosurgical training at the National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore and the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia.
  • Dr Pang Boon Chuan was awarded a Fellowship in Neurosurgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in January 2009. He has served as Co-Director of the Neuro Intensive Care at Tan Tock Seng Hospital from 2009—2013.
  • Dr Pang Boon Chuan attended advanced fellowship training in 2010. He trained under Dr Daniel J. Rosenthal (Frankurt, Germany), a world expert in endoscopic (key-hole) spine surgery. Following this, he worked under Dr Rajiv Midha (Calgary, Canada), a world expert in peripheral nerve surgery, in the latter half of the year. Subsequently he underwent short stints observing operative cases with world renown surgeons – Dr Majid Samii (Cerebellopontine angle tumours), Dr Juha Hernesniami (Cerebrovascular cases), and Dr Rokuya Tanaka (Cerebrovascular Bypass)
  • As a consultant neurosurgeon, Dr Pang Boon Chuan is involved in the management of brain and spine patients at the Tan Tock Seng campus of the National Neuroscience Institute. He’s a member of the spine surgery team that comprises both neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons. His spine practice includes interventional spine (injection, radiofrequency treatment) procedures for pain.
  • In addition, he is a member of the hospital’s quality management committee, blood transfusion committee and medical innovation office.
  • His research publication includes topics in cerebral haemorrhages, head injury, brain tumour and spinal tumour.
