  • Dr Dinesh Nair is a cardiologist practising at Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, Singapore.
  • His subspecialty is interventional cardiology and he has special interests in percutaneous valve therapy, complex angioplasty and stenting procedures.
  • Dr Nair graduated in 1996 from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and worked in several hospitals in Ireland and the UK. He returned to Singapore to complete his Cardiology Advanced Specialty Training at the National Heart Centre (NHC). He worked as a cardiologist in NHC before moving to Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) in 2006, where he was the director of the Coronary Care Unit.
  • He was awarded the Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) government scholarship by the Ministry of Health, Singapore, to train at the Helios Heart Centre, Siegburg, in Germany. There, he trained in advanced interventional cardiology with Prof Eberhard Grube. The centre is known for its 'first-in-man trials' of numerous cardiac devices and procedures, including percutaneous valve implantation, novel arterial stents and coronary imaging techniques.
  • He is a visiting consultant to the Johns Hopkins Singapore International Medical Centre and the department of cardiology at TTSH.
  • He teaches and gives lectures at various international conferences and has published scientific papers in the field of cardiology.
