Antenatal classes

Parentcraft: Antenatal Classes for Expecting Parents

What are antenatal classes?

Antenatal (prenatal) or parent-craft classes are designed to provide expectant mothers and fathers with detailed and thorough information to prepare for childbirth and parenthood.

Who should attend antenatal classes?

Our antenatal classes are designed for both expectant mummies and daddies. Couples and individual attendees are both welcome to attend our classes.

Are antenatal classes necessary?

Antenatal classes are beneficial, with the aim of equipping parents-to-be with the knowledge of labour, birth, breastfeeding and caring for their newborn baby.

Experienced midwives and lactation consultants will share hands-on advice on how to:

  • Cope with physical and emotional changes
  • Prepare for labour
  • Plan for successful breastfeeding
  • Take care of your newborn

When should you attend antenatal classes?

Most women attend their first class when the pregnancy is more stable, at around week 20.

What can you expect in antenatal classes?

Expecting mothers will learn tips and techniques to cope with labour, breastfeed and care for their newborn. Browse our programme outline for a better understanding of what you can expect at our antenatal classes.
