Podiatry

What is podiatry?

Podiatry is the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting your feet and lower limbs. These conditions can be biomechanical, sports injuries, ingrown toenails and diabetes-related. Our podiatrists (foot specialists) treat children, adults, athletes and the elderly.

Types of podiatry services

Our podiatrists offer the following specialised podiatry treatments and services.

Compression bandage therapy

An alternative treatment for venous ulcers caused by vein return insufficiency. You will need a referral from a vascular surgeon.

Custom insoles (orthotics)

Using a CAD/CAM scanner, we fabricate custom insoles (orthotics) to provide a personalised fit for your feet.

Foot sport strapping

We use rock tape to re-align and re-position your feet to help improve your sporting performance.

Footwear advice

We can help you choose the right fitting shoes for different profiles, including children, men, women and runners. We can also advise you on orthotics and orthopaedics.

Fungal toenail

We can help you remove a nail with fungal infection and use a PACT laser machine to treat the fungal growth.

Ingrown toenail permanent removal procedure

We can surgically remove part of or the entire affected toenail. To prevent the nail from regrowing, we use phenolisation techniques to cauterise the nail root.

Maggot debridement therapy

To help you in wound healing, we can use lab-incubated sterile maggots to remove damaged tissues. This is commonly used on patients with necrotic conditions or gangrene.

Special insoles for high heels and dress shoes

We can create podiatric-designed, slim fit, weight-shifting inserts for your high-heels. These inserts will transfer pressure from the ball of your foot to the heel. They will adjust your posture, relieve pressure on your knees and re-distribute the pressure on your feet.
