  • DR Tan Eng Kien (E K Tan) obtained his basic medical degree from the University of Manchester in 1997, graduating with honours. He completed his O & G training in the United Kingdom and is an accredited specialist in the UK and Singapore. His postgraduate qualifications included the Diploma of the Faculty of Family Planning (DFFP), Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) and the RCOG / Royal College of Radiologist Diploma in Advanced Obstetric Ultrasound. During his registrar training in Glasgow, Dr Tan also completed the RCOG Advanced Training Skills Module (ATSM) in Gynaecological Ultrasound imaging and Fetal Medicine at Queen Mother’s Hospital Glasgow. He has been an MOET (Management of Obstetrics Emergency and Trauma) instructor with the Advanced Life Support Group UK since 2003. In 2014, Dr Tan, having been judged by the Royal College of O & G UK to have advanced the science and art of O & G, was admitted as a Fellow of the College (FRCOG).
  • Dr Tan was previously a senior consultant, assistant professor and the residency program director at National University Hospital Singapore. He is conversant in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. He has lectured and taught on obstetric emergencies in English and Chinese, in countries including the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and China. Because of his fluency in English and Mandrain, he has looked after overseas pregnant patients from UK, Germany, France, Australia, New Zealand, US, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Phillipines and Vietnam.
  • His special interests included intrapartum obstetrics, waterbirth, high risk obstetrics and obstetrics ultrasound imaging.
