  • Dr Lim Ing Ruen is a senior consultant ear, nose and throat surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital. She graduated with Bachelor of Science and Masters of Medicine from the National University of Singapore in 1995 and completed her basic and advanced surgical training in Singapore.
  • Dr Lim specializes in Otorhinolaryngology, earned her Masters in Surgery (Otorhinolaryngology) from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2000. Dr Lim received Fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, the Academy of Medicine in Singapore and the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.
  • Dr Lim further subspecializes in the field of Rhinology and Advanced Endoscopic Sinus Surgery. She gained full certification in the United States Foreign Medical Graduates Examinations and obtained a state licensure for the Rhinology Fellowship in 2003-2004 with the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania where she trained with the pioneer of endoscopic sinus surgery. She was also appointed a clinical lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania and was involved in medical student teaching during her tenure.
  • Her previous and current hospital appointments include being on the Operating Theatre Committee, Hospital Planning Committee and the Transplant Committee.


  • Dr Lim was awarded her Fellowship in Otolaryngology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in UK in 2000.
  • She obtained the Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) Fellowship Award from the Ministry of Health to further subspecialise in the field of rhinology and advanced sinus surgery in 2003 at the University of Pennsylvania in USA. This is a one year hands-on clinical fellowship on advanced endoscopic sinus surgical techniques.
