He graduated from the National University of Singapore and holds a master’s degree in reconstructive microsurgery, a qualification attained by a select group of surgeons worldwide. Dr Kang is also an innovator in surgical techniques, having developed several procedures including the eponychial digital artery perforator flap, thenar crease skin graft, lateral plating of middle phalanx fractures, and simultaneous bilateral endoscopic carpal tunnel release. He has been practising medicine for more than 15 years.
Besides his clinical work, Dr Kang was a clinical assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine; adjunct assistant professor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine; associate programme director for specialist training; and fellowship director for international surgeons.
