Dr Lee Chuen Peng is a respiratory and critical care physician at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
He specialises in respiratory medicine and intensive care medicine, with special interests in sleep medicine, lung nodules, endobronchial ultrasound and navigational bronchoscopy.
Prior to joining private practice, Dr Lee was a senior consultant in the department of respiratory and critical care medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH).
Dr Lee graduated from the National University of Singapore, followed by a master’s degree there and fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians, UK. He trained at the Stanford Health Care Sleep Medicine Center, USA and completed a master’s in sleep medicine at the University of Sydney, Australia. He was awarded the title of somnologist, an expert in sleep medicine, by the European Sleep Research Society and is a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, USA.
During his time at TTSH, he established a sleep laboratory and developed the integrated sleep service for patients with sleep disorders. Dr Lee chaired the National Healthcare Group’s (NHG) sleep workgroup and contributed to the development of sleep medicine services. He has been practising medicine for more than 20 years.
Dr Lee is involved in medical education as a senior clinical lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He was a faculty member of the NHG’s respiratory medicine residency programme.
As secretary of the sleep chapter of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, he participates in professional collaborations. He is also involved in the Ministry of Health working groups on sleep medicine policy and contributes to sleep health initiatives in Singapore.
