Dr Lee Ee Lian is a psychiatrist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
Her clinical interests include eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorders, as well as mood disorders and general psychiatry.
She has more than 35 years of experience in her specialty.
Dr Lee was the founder and director of the eating disorders programme at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH). She was also the clinical director of the SGH LIFE (Lifestyle Improvement Fitness Enhancement) Centre.
She graduated from the National University of Singapore. She was later conferred a master’s degree in psychiatry and attained her specialist accreditation in psychiatry.
Dr Lee first worked in the field of eating disorders at the Gordon Hospital (now Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London) during her psychiatry training at the Charing Cross and Westminster psychiatry rotation. She completed a clinical fellowship in eating and mood disorders at the University of Toronto / Toronto General Hospital.
She was awarded a Health Manpower Development Plan award at Stanford University, (where she focused on family-based treatments), University of California, Los Angeles (eating disorders), and University of Hawaii (motivational enhancement therapy).
She was the past president of the Singapore Psychiatric Association, the ASEAN Federation for Psychiatry and Mental Health, and was a member of the Singapore Medical Association and the Academy for Eating Disorders. She was also a volunteer medical officer with the Singapore Armed Forces.
She is a recipient of the Service Excellence Award.
