Dr Benji Lim is an interventional cardiologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
He has extensive experience in coronary angiography and angioplasty, also known as percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or stenting. He also incorporates intravascular imaging and pressure wire assessment. He has a keen interest in the prevention and treatment of coronary artery disease and its risk factors, including diabetes, hypertension and hypercholesterolemia. He also has a special interest in sports cardiology.
Before joining private practice, he was a senior consultant cardiologist at Changi General Hospital and a visiting consultant at the National Heart Centre Singapore.
Dr Lim graduated from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland and completed his postgraduate membership of the Royal College of Physicians, UK. He finished his advanced specialist training in cardiology and underwent a 1-year fellowship in interventional cardiology at Inselspital, University of Bern, Switzerland.
He has more than 15 years of experience. He has performed more than 2,000 PCI procedures, including complex cases such as left main bifurcations, calcified lesions and total occlusions.
His research has been published in international journals such as Circulation and the Journal of the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology. He is regularly invited to speak at regional and international scientific meetings.
Dr Lim has been involved in medical education. He served as the associate programme director of the SingHealth cardiology senior residency programme, and held teaching positions as a clinical assistant professor at SingHealth Duke-NUS and a senior clinical lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
He has been recognised with multiple awards, including the Singapore Health Quality Service awards, Eastern Health Alliance Award, Changi General Hospital OneCGHCares Award, and Changi General Hospital WOW! Great Job Award.
