Dr Loh Ping Tyug is a renal physician at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
She has special interests in glomerular diseases and diabetic kidney diseases.
Prior to private practice, Dr Loh was a senior consultant nephrologist at the National University Hospital (NUH), where she was the director of preventive nephrology, working with family physicians in early detection and management of kidney diseases. She also led the glomerular disease management clinic.
She graduated from the Trinity College of Dublin, Ireland. She obtained postgraduate qualifications in internal medicine and membership of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland.
Dr Loh is also active in teaching. She is an assistant professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and an external lecturer for the advanced diploma in nursing at the School of Health Sciences, Nanyang Polytechnic. While at NUH, she was the nephrology undergraduate director and core faculty for the nephrology senior residency programme.
She sits on the medical advisory board of Automated Wearable Artificial Kidney Technologies. She has presented multiple abstracts at major nephrology scientific meetings in the region and internationally.
Dr Loh was awarded the National Clinical Excellence Team Award in recognition for co-directing a prevention programme for diabetic kidney disease at a primary care setting.
