Dr Dennis Ng is an orthopaedic surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
His main interests are in sports, and shoulder and knee conditions. He has experience treating professional athletes. Patients include high-level athletes for sports such as basketball, soccer, judo, rock climbing, cycling, etc.
Dr Ng treats a number of common conditions including shoulder (frozen shoulder, rotator cuff tears, shoulder impingement, shoulder dislocation and instability, shoulder arthritis and upper limb fractures), elbow (tennis elbow, elbow fracture and elbow sports injuries), knee (cartilage injury, ligament tears, and meniscus tears and knee arthritis), and ankle (ankle sports injuries and ligament tears).
Before joining private practice, he was deputy head of the shoulder and elbow division and sports knee division at the National University Hospital (NUH).
Dr Ng obtained his medical degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS), and subsequently pursued his postgraduate training in orthopaedic surgery and obtained his master’s degree. He was awarded the Human Manpower Development Plan scholarship and underwent subspecialty training at the Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic in Canada.
He was a core faculty for the NUH residency programme and an assistant professor at NUS. He was a part of the organising committee for the national shoulder and knee arthroscopy course.
Dr Ng has contributed to the scientific literature of orthopaedic surgery, with papers published and abstracts presented at both local and international medical conferences.
