Dr Edwin Tan is an orthopaedic surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
He is a sports specialist dedicated to surgical and non-surgical treatments for sports injuries. He is experienced in working with both professional and recreational athletes, helping them recover from injuries and return to peak performance.
Dr Tan has treated elite athletes including professional golfers on the DP World Tour and members of the Singapore National Basketball team, players from the Lion City Sailors, and other competitive athletes from various sports like bowling and fencing. He has travelled around the Asia-Pacific region to perform surgeries from knee ligament reconstructions of national athletes in Papua New Guinea to joint replacement surgeries in China.
Dr Tan has aided many of his patients in returning to their level of competitive sports and quality of life having performed over a thousand surgeries. He is also a strong advocate for preventive care and performance optimisation, working closely with athletes to enhance resilience and reduce injury risks. Dr. Tan was a consultant at Singapore General Hospital’s orthopaedic surgery department and an adjunct assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. He is currently also a visiting consultant at Singapore General Hospital.
