
Dr Tham Seng Choe is diagnostic and interventional radiologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital.
He specialises in musculoskeletal and sports imaging with a focus on spine and joint conditions. He works closely with referring clinicians and athletes.
He was a visiting specialist at the University of California, San Francisco, USA. His practice covered advanced MRI and CT interpretation, and the full range of image-guided musculoskeletal interventions. These include vertebral augmentation for painful osteoporotic fractures, radiofrequency ablation for osteoid osteoma, and targeted injections for joints, tendons and nerves.
He graduated from the National University of Singapore and did his master’s there.
Dr Tham leads AI and workflow innovation in radiology. His projects span structured reporting, report simplification for patients, and real-world evaluation and adoption of imaging AI in clinical settings. He trained in clinical informatics through the AMIA Medical Informatics programme at Oregon Health & Science University and serves as a panelist with Amazon Web Services on generative AI in radiology workflows. He has been practising medicine for more than 20 years.
Besides his clinical work, he teaches at regional meetings and workshops on musculoskeletal MRI and image-guided procedures, and mentors trainees and allied health professionals.
He also serves on the founding executive committee of RADII under the Singapore Radiological Society, advancing responsible AI and data innovation for radiology in Singapore. He is also a reviewer for the journal Skeletal Radiology.
