Experience
Dr Ester Yeoh is an endocrinologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
She focuses on several key areas of endocrinology including diabetes mellitus, hypoglycaemia, obesity and advanced diabetes technologies, encompassing insulin pump therapy and glucose sensors. In addition, she is well-versed in thyroid disorders, osteoporosis and general endocrine disorders.
She was a senior consultant in the Diabetes Centre at Admiralty Medical Centre, a specialist wing of Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), and in the division of endocrinology, department of medicine, at KTPH.
Dr Yeoh graduated from the National University of Singapore. After completing basic specialist training in internal medicine, she trained in endocrinology at KTPH and attained specialist accreditation in endocrinology. She was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan award and did her fellowship at the Diabetes Centre at King’s College Hospital, UK where she was involved in clinical and research work in type 1 diabetes and hypoglycaemia. She has dual accreditation in endocrinology and internal medicine.
At KTPH, she spearheaded the flexible insulin therapy clinic tailored to individuals with type 1 diabetes. Dr Yeoh also led the Diabetes Empowerment Programme – Insulin, a group education programme at KTPH. Her role included shaping the curriculum and developing patient education e-learning modules for type 1 diabetes and insulin pump therapy.
Besides her clinical work, she holds several academic appointments. She is an adjunct assistant professor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, adjunct assistant professor at Yong Loo Lin Medical School, and teaching faculty, core tutor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.
Dr Yeoh has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and has been invited to present her work at local and international conferences.
She is a recipient of the National Healthcare Group Young Achiever Award and Service Champion Award at KTPH.
