When your vision becomes impaired, you may need surgery to replace the lens. Not all people with cataracts need surgery. For some, changing their glasses or using a magnifying glass may be enough to improve their vision.
If you do need surgery, cataract surgery is usually done as a day surgery under local anaesthetic.
Technology has allowed us to offer bladeless cataract surgery. In this procedure, the cuts are made by a laser instead of a surgical blade, allowing more accuracy in performing the surgery.
