The centre is currently helmed by Dr Patrick Tan, a senior haematologist with over 35 years of experience in stem cell and marrow transplants.
He is internationally recognised for performing several world-first transplants, including the earliest successful unrelated blood stem cell and cord blood transplants for thalassaemia major, as well as starting non-myeloablative transplant procedures for conditions such as acute myeloid leukaemia and multiple myeloma.
Dr Tan also brings over three decades of experience in treating leukaemia in the elderly, with many patients achieving long-term remission or cure. In addition, he has more than 35 years of experience managing bleeding disorders.
